High-Dose Vitamin C Administration Inhibits the Invasion and Proliferation of Melanoma Cells in Mice Ovary

Several studies have been conducted to explore the anticancer effects of vitamin C (VC). However, effect high-dose VC administration on melanoma is still unknown. Therefore, in this study, we investigated (4 g/kg) invasion and proliferation cells various organs mice. B16 (1 × 106 cells/100 µL) were intravenously injected into tails female mice, solution was orally administered once a day for 14 d. On 15th day, samples from liver, lungs, jejunum, ovaries collected analyzed cells. Oral decreased number dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA)-positive gp100-positive suppressed melanoma. Compared melanoma-administered macrophage inflammatory protein-2 levels neutrophils increased + Furthermore, concentrations VC, iron, hydrogen peroxide, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate nick end labeling (TUNEL)-positive significantly mice compared those These results suggest that can reduce ovaries, play an important role achieving melanoma-suppressive effect.
